Sumit has not only defeated Dulan Kodithuwakku but knocks up his own previous record distance of 68.55m at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics .The India star has won five gold medals consecutively throughout the years .It all started with a glamorous victory gold in 2020 at Tokyo Paralympics , then at Asian Para Games in which he bagged a gold and then subsequently in 2023 at World championships another two gold.
It might be inappropriate to assert that javelin has brought him glory for the reason that he has clinched the victory merely by uplifting himself despite having lost a leg. His sheer determination, dedication, passion and most importantly a love for the sports first arose in wrestling but there was something special written for him in Javelin throwing which has come to enlighten the nation’s glory.
